Helping seniors live a better life through A.I.

Activities and Information. Free bingo, movie days, hot meals and holiday outings for seniors 60 and over, plus help finding rides and local services. Run by neighbors, paid for by people like you.

A registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Your gift is tax deductible.

How it works

Your gift becomes a seat, a meal and a ride

Three simple steps. No grants, no big office. Just Sheila, her volunteers, and the people who give.

1

Give.

Give once or monthly, by phone, pledge or check. Every gift gets a receipt with our tax ID.

2

Ride.

Your gift pays for transportation. A ride is the one thing that decides whether a senior can come.

3

Gather.

Bingo, movies, meals and company. You get photos and a thank you showing who your money reached.

Why it matters

Twelve years of showing up for seniors

Research in the Journal of Aging Research found that people who stay active, even three hours a week, live up to 6.9 years longer. That is why every Silver Saints event gets people out of the house and into a room full of friends.

Questions

What people ask us

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes. Sheila’s Silver Saints On The Move is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Every gift gets a receipt with our tax ID and everything your accountant needs.

Who can attend your events?

Any senior 60 and over in Lancaster, DeSoto and the surrounding communities. Events are free. Call 972-217-4572 and we will save you a seat.

Do you provide transportation?

We arrange rides to our events as funding allows, and GoLink curb-to-curb service is available through our partner, the Inland Port TMA. Transportation is our largest cost, and the reason we are raising money for a van of our own.

How do I volunteer?

Fill out the volunteer form or call 972-217-4572. Most volunteers give a few hours a month.

Do you offer computer classes?

Yes, starting in 2026 with the Dallas College Lifelong Learning Program: basic computer skills, email, video calls and scam safety, free for seniors. Call 972-217-4572 to get on the list for the first class.

Where does the money go?

Meals, room rental, prizes and transportation for seniors. As we grow, staff to run programs more than once a month.
