Founded by a neighbor, run by neighbors
Sheila’s Silver Saints On The Move, also called Three SSS, started in 2014 as a senior service provider of activities and information. Sheila calls it A.I., and it has nothing to do with computers.

Sheila Smith
For more than a decade, Sheila has been committed to the lives of seniors in Lancaster and DeSoto. She books the rooms, calls the bingo numbers, cooks and serves the meals, wraps the prizes, and drives seniors home when nobody else can.
In 2025 the City of DeSoto recognized her work with a certificate of appreciation. She would rather you remember the seniors than the certificate.
Her goal is simple: enough steady support to run programs every week instead of once a month, a van of our own, and one day a building where seniors can drop in any day.
Staying active adds years
A review of studies in the Journal of Aging Research showed that people who exercise regularly, even for as little as three hours a week, lived up to 6.9 years longer than people who did not. Getting out, seeing friends and laughing over a bingo card counts.

Seniors 60 and over in southern Dallas County
Most of the people we serve live in Lancaster and DeSoto, many in senior living communities. Some have family close by. Many do not. Our events are free, and we go to where seniors already are: senior centers and senior living facilities.
We also help families and caregivers. If you are looking for a ride, a senior center, a meal program or a place to ask questions, call us. If we do not have the answer, we know who does.
